Hi, we're Kateryna and Michael, the founders of Guidon Photography.
Our story begins in 2017 in Lviv, Ukraine, where Michael's military deployment brought him and where he met his future wife, Kateryna. A romance that started in the heart of Europe would grow and take us through many places eventually bringing us to our current home in Seattle.
As a military couple we've had it all, long-distance relationship, late-night calls and many challenging decisions, both personal and professional. We know first-hand that marriage is a beautiful God-given partnership that requires hard work, dedication and unwavering commitment along the way, but brings an immeasurable amount of love, support and inspiration.
Since our own story is so intertwined with the military lifestyle, we would especially love to connect and work with other military couples to bring their unique and inspiring stories to light.
A few facts to know us better:
- Our Christian faith is a fundamental part of our life and every morning we try to share a Bible-reading and a prayer time together.
- Katya is originally from Ukraine, and Mike calls upstate New York his home. Both places are dear to our hearts, and both are our homes we love to come back to!
- We have the sweetest cat we brought with us from Ukraine - Koshka. Our days would be so deprived of many laughs and joys without her!
- We both are bibliophiles - our library grows so fast we are in a constant need of a bigger apartment!
- We both are immeasurably drawn to water - that brought us to Seattle in the first place, and one of the things we most enjoy doing together is taking ferry rides!
- We both are so passionate and supportive of each other's dreams - and we are happy we can bring Mike's Navy experiences and Katya's visual creativity into Guidon Photography.
